PatientCare EMS® has been the exclusive 911 ambulance provider in Sioux Falls, SD since May 2015. Our workforce of about 80 employees collaborates closely with six fire departments to cover 73-square miles serving more than 183,000 residents, responding to more than 17,000 emergency requests per year and transporting approximately 12,000 patients each year.
Since 2016, PatientCare EMS has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and reached Gold Level status from the American Heart Association in their Mission Lifeline program in 2018, 2020 and 2021 after receiving Silver Level status in 2017 and Bronze Level status in 2016. Our experienced team of paramedics provides communities with top-notch care and holds certification in:
- Basic Life Support – Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Our state-of-the-art fleet of 10 ambulances are equipped with Lifepak 15 ECG devices with 12-lead transmission capability, Stryker Power Stretchers, Panasonic Tough Book patient care reporting devices along with the latest in dispatching software, and a driver monitoring and feedback system. Metro Communication’s Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) provides all the dispatch services with their EMD certified and “System Status Management” trained staff.
